Default need some serious help!!

ok, I've been working on my friends LT1 for about 7 months now. We've had the heads off 3 times now due to the fact the guy that ported his heads put the wrong spring seats on (long story), but finally we got it to run!! Now after we set the valve lash, there is a ticking on the passenger side. We think its a bad lifter. Is there anyway to tell before we start tearing it down again? I believe he has some computer software to scan it. Any suggestions??

Thanks
John

Thats a good question. I dont think i can help you on this one. Are the lifters new? And are you shure you set the lash correctly?

after adjusting the valve lash, how ling did you let it run. sometimes it takes about 10 min for the lifters to pump up in some cases. also, try adjusting it again while the motor is off and if it still taps, then try adjusting while the motor is on(back the rocker nut off until you hear the valve tapping, then tighten the nut down until the tapping goes away, and then an additional 1/4 to 3/4 turn depending on how much play you want). if it still wont quit tapping, check for busted springs. if not that, then tear the intake off and change the lifters. im in the middle of trying to solve a tapping issue myslelf, looks to be a lifter, will be replacing it tonight.
