Default Old School short block to an LT1

I have quite a few old school carbed short blocks. How difficult would it be to convert them to fit into an LT1 e.g. 383 stroker or 454 (the 454 does not look like it will fit <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> ) How would you change the intake to match the LT1 setup? What about the ECM? I know all conversions are a PITA but could this be worth it. There is an 95 LT1 Camaro here for $1000.00 with a bad engine. What other BIG problems will I need to consider? I have the blocks and was thinking about a project for a big shot of gas e.g. 300-400 shot range for track only.
Are there any links or write ups on someone trying this.

Thanks,

The LT-1 block & heads are special, LT-1 only .(reverse cooling)You can build a stroker LT-1 383 even seen 396's but will cost extra $$ to build & tune.

This isn't the right forum for this but...

It's not a big deal swapping the standard SBC into a 4th gen. Some things have to be considered such as the emmissions constraints. If your going to fuel inject the car, then its not really a big deal. You'll need to run an aftermarket injection. If your going to leave it carb'd, then you just need to work out your gauge cluster issues. A big block will also fit just fine in a 4th gen.

This was pretty vaugue but its in the wrong forum, so if you have any questions just ask.
