more problems my car kept dying on me,so I replaced the fuel filter,that helped out for a few days but the car still wont start,it cranks but wont turn over,it wont start one hour but will the next, I was thinking it could be the fuel pump but I hear the noise like the fuel pump is priming,could it still be bad even when its coming on?

I had a similar thing happen a few years ago. Car was acting up like it was running out of fuel, replaced the fuel filter car was good for 2 days, was able to limp it home. Pump was shot. Probably best to check the fuel pressure at the rail.
