Default Help me out with the top end.

All right guys,

I got some used stock aluminum heads(thanks 96lt1m6) to replace my stock cast Iron(less weight on the front). I put a lot of work into rebuilding this motor, so i'd feel bad just putting used heads on the engine. I was thinking of getting the le1 h/c package, but I heard of people using the le1 heads and a different cam and make more horsepower. I am putting my lt1 in a rx7 so I don't need a ton of horsepower , but I'd like to be in the 380-400rwhp range. It won't have any emissions and I'm going to run a megasquirt(standalone). This car will be a dd, so it can't be to over the top.

This is what I have in mind for the valve train.

Cloyes true roller timing chain
Comp cams pro magnum roller rockers(NSA 7/16)
ARP rocker arm studs(7/16 high performance)
GM performance parts guideplates(5/16)
Comp cams hardened pushrods(5/16)

Now I just need help with the top end.

I know it's a mishmash but I think you guys get the picture.

thanks

i would honestly take it to a local porter and have him do a little port and polishing. yes it would be alot nicer to get a LE1 or something similar but if its not going to be really important, go with a local porter/machine shop.

Ok, the aluminum heads I bought are going to have to be rebuilt whether I sent them to lloyd or not. Now I need to know should I have them ported(sent them to lloyd) or not? I have about $2000 to put into performance parts. But I also have to buy a tranny, alt, starter, driveshaft, mounting, wiring/computer, etc. So I'm feeling like I need to start thinking about how I spend my money. I just turned 17 today, so I only have 2 years till I go off to college.

So what I want to know what you think is the best bang for the buck? Rebuild the stock aluminum heads and throw a hotcam kit in there, send the heads to lloyd and get a le1 h/c package, or is there other better things I can do to make horsepower?

i think that with the 2000$ that u have, u should be thinking of geting that car on the road, when that is achieved then start moding it.

Sorry guys for all the confusion. I shouldn't of made a post without knowing what I want to ask.

As for the money, the $2000 can go towards performance parts. It's going to be kind of a slow process, but I hope to have it up and close to running by spring.
