I am all for being creative, but this is an area most people have no bussiness trying to mod. It is difficult to plug a hole properly in a flexible duct like the LT1 elbow.

Guess what happens when the adhesive or plug material breaks loose and gets sucked into the engine. To me it aint worth the risk, just get a trickflow, 1LE or vortech elbow or even the cheapo on ebay.

Have you taken into consideration how the bonding process will react to under hood engine temperature.

Have you taken into consideration how the composition of the rubber plug material you used will react to under hood engine temperature.

Have you taken into consideration how the existing rubber will react to the newer rubber you have used especially in the fusing process.

Have you taken into consideration the effects of wind velocity on the fused rubber.

Have you taken into consideration the long term effects of natural rubber aging and the potential of the fusing process failing.

I am not trying to belittle you here, please don't think that. I just want to point out that there is a lot of chemical and mechanical engineering that goes into a mod like what you have done. You need to be very well aware of this and the potential risk.

Again if something fails and chunks go down your engines pie hole it will be substantially more expensive and aggravating than the cost of the better aftermarket elbow especially considering you will see gains of less than 1 HP.

Well I had such a shitty day that I thought I might take part in this discussion. Although many people in here will always try to give you great direction. Today all I have to offer is some cheap shock mod. This should only be used in the rear.

Everyone has their ideas, half of this stuff is ideas. That's the fun of it, seeing what works. I put a thread up of what I did to mine with the LS1 Air Lid.

Aftermarket elbows are so cheap. Just buy an aftermarket one. That doesn't look sturdy at all. Your car, but I personally wouldn't take the risk.

Aww, leave the guy alone. His chopped up elbow probably works just as well as some pricey/shiney new one that he just can't afford right now. We've all been there.
