Why is there a difference... I bought a '93 Z28 with an LT1/A4. I realize about the speed density computer and the Opti change in '94, but why are there so many engine parts listed for 94-97 cars only? What is the difference if any? Also, I was hoping to get this answer in a previous thread, but is there any difference between a late-model 700R4 (like the late-model thirdgens came with) and a non-electronic 4L60? I may chime in with some more questions along the way...thanks for helpin out, new to the LT1 stuff.
the 93 has a different intake. It has the crossover tube for the fuel rails in the back of the intake and not in the front of the intake. only differences between your 4l60 compared to older ones would be yours has bugs fixed, better (questionable?) parts, etc. What parts are listed for 94-97 only?
Sometimes you will see headers listed differently, but only because the AIR fittings were in different spots on the '93 cars. Obviously a MAF is only going to be 94-97 as 93s didn't have them. The CAI's are therefore also slightly different.
