Difference between a z28 & SS okay, well i have a 94 camaro z28 whick i have put the SS hood, spoiler, and ram air on and i called my car a 94 camaro z28 SS and i get **** all the time for it cause as you know they didnt make SS's until 96, but oh well, what does the SS have that the z28 doesnt from factory?

i'm not exactly sure..but my 97 ss, has bilstein shocks and hotchkis suspension..came factory with subframe connector, and whatever that bar is that goes on the rear end from side to side..that is hotchkis as well. and lower control arms. mine also came with and oil cooler..torque sensing differential with 3.42s...but thats it as far as mine goes..so i don't know what else they came with..oh and a hurst short throw shifter from the base up..but that might be on all camaros..not sure.

Those hotchkis suspension parts as well as the subframe connectors were not factory items. I bought my 97 SS new. There are standard and optoinal parts for the SS. Hood, ram air, wheels, floor mats, dashboard plaque are standard. Options are Level 1 and 2 suspension with bilstien shicks and bigger sway bars, 2 on the left exhaust, zexel differential, engine oil cooler, car cover, hurst shifter for M6. There's an option also for road racing tyres that come with an extra set of wheels.
The LT1's came base with 285hp in 96-97 as well...so they built up from 285 instead of 275. That is a difference. The SS Intake is a waste...poor design on chevy's part. The air heats up by the time it gets to the throttle body. Ram Air is not really teh SS Intake. Ram Air is more the Ultra Z Hood or with the WS6 Trans Am where it goes straight into the intake in stead of taking corners like w/ the SS Intake.
Here's a photo of the option sheet and SLP alteration package on a 97' SS. Quite different from a stock Z28. Although HP was bumped up from 275 to 285 base in 96', the SLP performance exhaust and intake, brought the SS up to 305 hp.
