tach not working after intake install?!

tach not working after intake install?! I installed a lingenfelter cold air intake yesterday and now all of a sudden my tach does not work. The needle will go to about 3k then start flickering like crazy. It will sputtter back and forth drop down to 1k then back up to like 4k and back and forth all crazy.
What can cause this? I don't understand i didn't touch anything when I installed it, i only took off the old intake tube and box lol. Does the computer need time to reset to adjust for the new airflow?? So far ive only drove it around the block because i was scared to hurt anything else. Any help is greatly appreciated i am trying to sell the car, but need it working first!
