Default 350/383 crank?

my buddy has some brand new rods that he had bought to put in his 355 that he wants to sale me, would those rods fit on my crank that i'm gonna use for my 383? they are 5.7 rods..

the crank that i'm gonna use is i guess just the average size crank i guess, not a big one..don't really know much bout this whole stroker stuff

the crank is what makes it a stroker not the rod size. Just dont buy his crank that he used on the 355 and you should be fine. what kind of rods are they? and what are your plans for this motor? the answers to those questions should help you out in deciding if you want those rods or not.

you should get 6" rods for 383 (forged H-beams)

ok thats cool, thanks..yeah i didn't know if for any reason the diam. of the crank where the rods connect were different on the two crankshafts or not, but thanks for the info..all i know from what he told me is they are forged rods..

this is my daily driver..my only vehicle actually..it took a crap on me so i'm just trying to get it back together as quick as possible right now..so i'm not trying for anything too big, just something to be a lil more fun to drive and drop the times down at the track a lil.

what are you looking to do with the motor? 5.7" rods will work but i would reccomend 6". and another thing what are your thoughts on the brand of rod? if youre looking to do any racing i would go with a forged manley piece. theyre about 120 grams lighter which is basically going to let the motor rev faster. lighter rotating assembly=more power.
