Default Optispark question

I am going to look at a 94 Camaro this weekend. The owner claims that the engine was rebuilt ten thousand miles ago...Now my question is, if they had the engine rebuilt, would that mean that the optispark was rebuilt and how would I be able to tell if it is a vented optispark by looking at it? Thanks for the help

Not necessarily, they could have reused the old opti. But, most would replace it. It will have a vent hose coming off the top going to the air induction tubing. there is also another vent on the underside of it. I'm not sure if any 94's came with a vented opti, but alot of people do the conversion.

I had my engine done but reused my original opti. Not exactly smart, but if its not broke, why fix it?
