Default exhaust question

after headers (mids) should i do a cut out on stock catback or aftermarket catback like a hooker or edlebrock. car will have 1 hiflow cat on the y. i dont want to spend more than 300-325 on a catback, if i race the cutout will be open. i want to buy headers this week. going with coated pacesetter mids.

ps. how much of a performance difference is there between a 2.5" catback and a 3"

thanks
Jeremy

Why are you going with mids and not longtubes? If you're going to run a cutout you can keep the stock catback on. Gives it a nice stock look. I'd get a catback just for the sound when catback is closed though..
Oh, and I believe there is a 1/2" difference between 2.5" and 3" catbacks
