Default pasesetter headers sux

just installed the headers and the passanger side hits the k member and the engine mount bracket, and touches also hits the bell housing of the transmission. on top of all that , after i installed them, the passanger side header, the o2 sensor bung fitting , who ever welded them from the factory, got the weld into the threads, so i went to put the o2 sensor in and it would not go.; i had to drill it out and retap the hole, because of someone's stupid mistake.----- oh well...

oh what kind of plug wires should i get. >? thunder racing --- over the valve cover , or the msd 8.5 wires.?

over the valve cover are best to get away from the serpentine system and the heat of the headers

I've heard nothing but good things from PS LT's?
I'm hoping that was just a one time thing, b/c I'm getting ready to buy a set.
I used to have a set of Hooker Lt's and they fit awsome clearence wise, but they were a bastard to put in.

I had pacesetter shorties, not my fave but not too bad. The Passanger side O2 access sucked. But smaller 1-5/8" primaires made plug access easier.

I had Pacesetter Mid's, they were awesome, not a single clearance issue. Going to LT's though when the build is done.

My Pacesetter LT's fit great, easy install, and the only clearance issue I had was with one of the lines coming out of the A/C compressor. Everything else is great about them except the gaskets they came with.
The thread starter should have contacted whoever they bought them from to swap them out before modifying them to work. Now they're yours bud. If you would have realized the problem, then just picked up the phone your problems would have been solved with a new set of headers. Especially if you ordered them from Summit. Too late now though.

well i did not look into the hole of the 02 bung. i mean i looked at the header, it was in good shape, but i have never messed with a lt1 f-body , so i had no clue what to look for if something was wrong. -- and i already welded a adapter on the long tube. . oh well, its all in beside the clunking noise that i hear from the bottom of the car , i can say , that with true duals, car is amazing.

I had no problems with my Pacesetter long tubes. The install was smooth and no problems with the 02 bungs either. I agree about calling and reporting the problems vs. retapping or fixing that stuff yourself.... ESPECIALLY on a NEW part.
