From what I've read, if you remove the underside baffeling, you can run the stock covers.

My question is, can you run the Corvette squarish plastic covers with 1.6 RRs?

when I put my comp pro-mag rockers on my motor, I had to grind away not at the baffle near the oil cap, or breather. but where your valve cover bolts come through, the bracing that they have in there is not perfectly flat, it curls out at the end (closest to the head) all that is need is to grind the curve out of it and they fit just fine.

there needs to be a sticky about this because Im getting tired of typing it.

The only rockers that need to have the stock valve covers modded are the PRO-MAGs. all other rockers are narrowbody rockers and require no MODIFICATION on stock covers.

Evenmoreso on the stock covers to get the Pro-mags to fit you dont have to grind anything. Just bend the "L" shaped brackets straight..

LT4 composite with MBA anodized inserts. I ran modified stockers (they didn't clear my HiTech Stainless Comp rocker arms), but they leaked too much. LT4's haven't leaked a drop. Without the inserts, they look kinda plain. With the inserts, they look great.

Camaroholic, are those the same as the Corvette LT1 covers? I really like those, but I have some Crane 1.6s I'd like to install.

I think they are. They're "composite" (aka plastic). I had to tweak the stock valve covers to clear my rockers; these valve covers dropped right on, no mods necessary, to the covers or to the alternator. Only downside is they're not cheap, and MBA is out of business, so finding the inserts might be tough these days. I know Thunder (that bought MBA's inventory) doesn't have any inserts left.

Well I could care less about the inserts, unless they're NEEDED, I just love those covers. They look more... I dunno, muscular LOL I mean, everything centerbolt comes with those stock ones :\ Makes the LT1 seems less special.

I have some LT4 composite valve covers with all the mounting hardware, that I would be willing to sell. To buy the valve covers new its pretty expenseve. You cant just bolt them down, they require the correct spacers etc that need to be bought individualy from GM. The valve covers that id like to replace them with are $100, so id sell mine for $100 if someone wants them.
