No spark or fuel opti problem?
No spark or fuel opti problem? Trying to help a freind has 94 vette it will run fine for a few minutes and then just shut down no fuel or spark let it set for a few minutes and will fire back up. No codes or ses He has been throwing parts at it has replace every thing but opti unit itself said it had been replace not to long ago has even put new ecm on it. I have not done much work on lt 1 type engines but have told him that the opti unit is know to cause problems anybody got and suggestions.

If the opti is shot, it won't let fuel to be fed to the injectors and also, you will not have any spark. There is no surefire way to test the opti. Its basically, its good, or its shot. Sounds like it has failed from your description, but, than again, it could be the fuel pump, unless that was replaced also. I'd do a fuel pressure check and recheck for spark. If the fuel side turns out well, I'd bank on either the wires or plugs are bad, or the opti has infact gone to crap.
