down sides to a big cam

down sides to a big cam if i go with a custom cam for my 355 build that's similar to the 847 what would be some of the downsides to having such a big cam? say if i wanted to drive a 3-4 days a week and at times in heavy stop and go traffic

is this a trick question? are there downsides to a big cam? umm only things I can think of are the following.
less vacuum for brakes... shouldnt have much of a problem with that size cam though.
Rough Idle... who phuckin cares?
Higher RPM's... little less reliability if you have a power band that goes to 6900... once again who phuckin cares?
Will need a good tune... your gonna have to have that anyway.

ya i already knew those that you mentioned and i'm going to get a vacuum canister, rough idle?! lol i ****** love that sound, higher rpm's? it's going to be fully forged andd i only plan to spin it to 6500 or so.. what i'm concerened about is if it will be really hard to drive for some reason or if it will have a tendancy to die on me or something at idle...

that would be the reason for a good tune.... like I said... is this a trick question?
I figure something like a solid roller 256/264 on a 108 would be nice

get a custom cam on a tighter or smaller LSA and use a little more duration with modest lift. FE: Try a cam thats about 23x/24x on a 111 lsa (hydraulic)...that way you're pulling from about 3k-6600 and have a decently lopey idle. If you want it to idle smoother..increase the lobe separation to like 114.
Just save the time and energy and get a custom grind..thats the best option these days.
