Question engine won't start!

I just rebuilt my engine. It's a 94 z28. I bought the four bolt main short block lt1 from scoggin dicky. I installed a comp cams xfi 268 cam. 30lb injectors, had the pcm reprogramed by f-body motorsports. I had the heads rebuilt with comp everything.I followed the book on installing all the parts. I tried to start the motor today and it backfired and would not crank. I'm getting spark from the coil but it just won't crank. Is there anything i'm missing. 12 and 12 on the timing chain when installing the optispark. Could the timing be off some how? I'm pulling my hair out somebody anybody please help me out. I looked over all the wiring and couldn't see anything wrong. But something must be or she would've crunk right. I will look over everything tomorrow and triple check just wondering if anyone might be able to save me some aggravation.

Sounds like a timing issue I went through this two years ago. Turns out i was a tooth off on the opti. I dont know how I created my own groove in the timing gear but i did. It was backfireing out the intake and then the exaust.

One tooth off i will check. Say it wore a grove of its own uh. The timing chain dots are supposed to be at 12 and 12 though right?

I just had someone ask me about the short block being a 4 bolt main. I was told when i bought it that it would work fine in my 94 z. Does anyone know any reason it wouldn't.

Sounds like an ignition problem. Another Opti faliure....hopefully you've installed it wrong, or you might get away with changing the cap and rotor.
