I have a dumb cam question

What are the differences in a LT1 cam and a regular 350 smallblock cam, not in lift and duration but more like, will a SB350 cam fit in a LT1?

If it was a roller cam I'm sure it would. I'm sure you can run a solid roller if you wanted, but you would need different lifters and some other odds and ends I would say. But an LT1 is "BASICALLY" a SBC. Theres a few differences between the two that would not allow you to use other parts such as heads,intakes, water pump, but as far as the cam goes, I'd say you'd be alright.

yes, they are the same, you just need the dowel pin for the opti spark

youd have to make sure its hydraulic roller too. Earlier SBC cams arent. The tpi motors are though

I know a couple of people with TPI's and there running stock LT1 cams. A good bit of power difference over a stock TPI cam. And stock LT1 cams are almost free since just about everyone changes to a larger one.

Next set of questions, What lift are the stock valve springs good for? And what springs do you all recomend to replace them with? When do I need to be worried about the pushrods?

From my understanding they are not the same. I asked this question before. I believe that any cam made for 87+ SBC's will work. The older style cams will not.
