Default MSD Front Drive Distributor

Is the MSD front Drive distributor compatible with the lt1?

I am considering carbing the motor and want to eliminate the optispark.

You still need the optical sensor for cam position.

The unit that I am firmilar with is a carbed LT1 intake set up with the standard distributor set up in the rear. But I think I saw Joe O's car which had a distributor set up in front, its been a while, so dont quote me.

If you use a carb, there is no reason it won't work as long as you use a belt drive for the cam. (Jessel, etc.) No optical cam sensor signal needed for a carb. You can use a crank trigger for the ignition, or just use an MSD distributor in the rear. Don't need the belt drive cam that way.

Good luck, Ed
