header questions

for guys with headers on the lt1, do you blow gaskets and wreck **** if you put headers on? kinda like old muscle cars how you can have problems with them leaking and wnat not. how is it on the lt1?

the main thing is retourqing the bolts after heat cycles. alot of people will just tighten up the first time then thats it. the gasket expands and compresses, bolts spin out, and now "X" company makes a shitty header gasket that blows out all the time. with that said the only ones ive had blow out were the stock paper ones i got with my Kooks, lasted a year though.

Haven't had any problems. Whenever I do any work or clean up under the hood I take 5 minutes to make sure the bolts are tight, no biggie

the only ones that i had a problem with were the mr gasket copperseals because of the ridge, paper one's i'd shy away from too but other than that they're great,, torquing them isnt hard at all really, i just used an open end wrench on them to retorque em after i'd do the heat cycles
