Default stroker vs. bigger cam

I dyno at 375 rwhp with my current setup. Would I see more gains going to an xfi 230/236 .515/.515 (1.6 rr's) or going with an eagle 383 stoker kit? Including labor, the stroker would be double the price.

My suggestion is stroker and bigger cam.

Cam it and see what happens. That will be a MUCH better cam than that hotcam you're running. What valvetrain do you have?

valvetrain=lt4. I've gotten alot of stoke and cam it responses. Unfortunately I don't have the money right now to do both. I'll probably get the cam first, and the stroker later on. I 'm just wondering, for comparisons basis, which would lead to more hp gains

So you would need to upgrade the valvetrain bigtime either way. Obviously a 383 will have more power gains overall at a much higher cost. I'd say put the cam in with a new valvetrain and see how you like it. If you still want more, buy a Lt1 shortblock or bare block and build your 383 bottom end. Then you can just swap everything over within a couple weekends or less. If you save enough, you can just get a built shortblock from VRE or something like that.

I have that cam on a 383 already, nice numbers through a bad automatic torque converter.
396 rwhp 377 ft lbs of torque, tuned and dyno'd by Dan at FLP (Naperville, IL). Great gas milage for 396 rwhp. Since the dyno I installed a 6 speed with a spec stage 3 ceramic clutch and a fidenza aluminium flywheel, and aluminium drive shaft. I was going to go back over and redyno with a solid transmission, but don't know if I will have it done before I get 292XFI installed. From all calc's that I've done and the comparison of my current setup and a couple minor issues I'm think I will be in the 450-470 rwhp @ 6K - 6500 range with the 292, the only reason I'm going bigger.... I'm not sure yet but I am.
I recommend the XFI series, great cams.
