i get a gas smell from the rear of the car right after i park from driving, or come up to a light and sit there for a little while. i think its the charcoal canister, and/or the filler hose. gas cap is brand new and its 3-4 clicks tight on the car.

has anyone else had this problem?

 

Yeah but only with a leaking exhaust gasket.

 

just wondering did you change your fuel pump recently? i got this smell after i changed mine before i made cover for it. oh yeah i did mine through the top

 

stock pump. i smell it from the filler door on back. especially in the wheel well.

 

Mine did the same thing but only after I filled it up, drove me crazy and it started doing this after I had a new fuel pump put in. Anyway I finally found it and it was a cracked filler neck right where it meets the tank. Hey jd783, how did you do yours through the top?? If it ever goes out again I will be doing it that way also. Was a bitch the other way!
