No, and no.

 

you might have to clearance the stock ones some depending on what brand you get.

I had to with my crane golds. It was just too close for comfort.
It can be easily done with snips. You have to shorten things up without loosing the integrity of the valve cover bolting apparatus.

 

I was in a hurry lol

Most of the guys can get away with the stock ones and just removing the inner sheet metal. As 97 said, brand could change all of that.
