I currently have a 383 lt1 with all the bolt-on’s minus a cat-back, a CC306 camshaft 1.6RR’s and a PCMforless mail order tune that kills the plugs and the O2’s about once every two weeks. I also have a TH350. I just bought some AFR 190’s competition port heads that have been hand cleaned and a stock but port matched intake with a 58mm BBK TB, also a 3400 stall converter. I am having second guesses about the cam I purchased. It is the Comp Cams 07-468-8 cam. It has a lift of .584 intake and .579 exhaust the lobe separation is 113 and the duration @ .50 is 242 intake and 248 exhaust. Is this a good combo? Is the cam the wrong size? Is their something I can do to make more horsepower? Maybe a custom cam? The goals that I want for the car is to make around 400-420 rwhp and about the same amount of torque. As far a ET goes I want to run mid to high 11's on motor and in the 10's on a 150 shot. Help is appreciated. This is a street car but not a daily driver. I do take it to the track often. Help is appreciated.

the combo you described should easily meet your goals...I was also considering the XFI468 for my 396. The cam should make good power and still have decent street manners. I would expect mid 11's NA and easy 10's on the jug

that XFI cam will be a better cam than the cc306 in overall HP. I have one of the XFI468 in a stock bottem end with P&P,milled stock heads, stock pistons/rods,1.6rr,accel ign. 52mm TB, LT's 3in X w/bullets dumped, custom tune 4L65 w/3600 stall. I dyno it last week at 384HP 381TQ N/A 544HP 571TQ N20(175 shot wet) I dont remember the rpms at the moment(I can find out). I havent gotten a chance to hit the track yet and prob wont till next year. B/C i blew a head gasket friday night.
