How hard to sell lt1
How hard to sell lt1 I am looking at a Very nice lt1, 383 built done right, i am just afraid that it will be hard to sell if i ever want to, seems like everyone wants a ls1 including myself. What are your guys oppion?

I think, you will never recover all the money you've spent on it.... probably not even close unless you get lucky. I think your right about people wanting the LS1's and eventually they'll want the new 09 camaros over LS1's. New ones are going to have the LS2 or something newer, right?
Its not just because its an LT1, no car will really make the money back thats put into it unless you are some sort of celebrity or its like a Year One, GMMG, or other high profile shops, then you're just buying the name
I know i might loose money i just dont want to loose my ***, or have a car that just flat out wont sell.

IMHO, you should not consider a car an investment. Buy it for the pleasure, not the RTO. It is a very good car, albeit GM screwed us by putting out the LS1 in 98. It is still a fun car to drive and to knock out ricers and that other American brand that always cost too much..
If you want to buy it as an investment, your going about it the wrong way. My opinion is buy it and have fun with. Never add up what you have in a car when selling it. Otherwise it will be in you garage for a very long time.
Well if i can buy a ls1 for the same money and be faster than why shouldnt i, The only thing bothering me about the car is he says it dynoed 375 and 402 tq
But it only runs 12.30 -50s at onlyl 107 why is the mph so low. 11.60s at 117 on 175 shot. 3.73 gears and 2800 stall. 222/230 gm cam> any ideas.

I would think a well built, good condition example would never really drop under 5-7k. My point of reference for this would be the third gen cars. That's basically how they are. A really nice one with a built motor and drivetrain and 90k goes for something like that.
you dont buy a car for its resale..you buy it for its sale and value to you. if you enjoy the car enough, then you'll never want to sell it. if you're weary about buying a car, then dont. plenty of 98 fbodies go for 5-8k these days, anyways.

the LTx model f-bodies are very reliable and have been proven to last well over 200K miles, if even taken care of minimally. if in good condition, most LTx f-bodies are traded in or sold at decent prices. with a completely built motor and many performance modifications, the price should be quite a bit higher for buying/selling(if the original parts are still available). overall, it's a good investment, just as long as the previous owner isn't b/s'ing about anything and it truly is a well, taken-care of automobile. f-bodies deinitely hold their own as ar as price, and are definitely much more known to hold their value much greater than Mustangs do (just as a comparison). good luck with your decision and i hope everything goes well for you!

looks like the cam is small for a 383 also I would want to know how many times it has been sprayed and what parts were used in the build. Ask for the info if he doesnt have it then make sure you check out everything spend a lot of time under the car. take it for a long test drive to make sure everything works then after pop the hood and check under for any signs of leaks. But that does seem horribly low for a 383 its only putting down stock bottom end 350 and H/C numbers.
dyno sheet shows peak Hp at 5400 tq at pretty flat from 3000 to 4500, I wonder if the cam is just killing it, Best run is 12.209 @ 107.22 even on 12.45 run it still runs 107, it seems to just be done at 107
