i might give it a shot to put the headers on today, because i have the weekend to do them. But my mufflers wont come in for a couple days will it hurt the engine at all to run open headers for a couple days

I'm no expert but I believe you will lose low-end power with open headers. Mine drove like a dog when I drove it like that. Thankfully it was on the highway mostly and the noise wasn't as noticable. Its only good when your running a big cam & high revving motor. I'm not sure about it hurting the engine at all but, you will be setting off car alarms and attracting the police if your not careful.

I ran mine with open headers... didn't do any harm that I know of... was pretty fun. Would backfire whenever I shifted, though. Once the rest of the exhaust was on there, it didn't quiet down much, just sounded cleaner. I still set alarms off everywhere I go, and cops stay close to me now. But its fun. Love true duals.
