Default fluidDampr question

building a forged 362 (lt1) with a aftermarket cola 350 crank, do i just go with a standard 350 fluidampr? ATI, etc?

What kind of application are you useing this for? Road course? Drag racing? What kind of rpm are you going to run? Are you going to keep your serpitene belt system? Are you useing a internal or external balance crankshaft?

this will be a warm weather driver only, some drag racing, probably nothing over 7k rpm, internally balanced and yes ill be keeping the serpetine system

You'll have to go with an LT1 damper, I have the ATI and and it's working fine.

an lt1 dampr wont work with an aftermarket 350 crank will it?

Yes it will, I have a Callies crank and used both the stock and the ATI on it. Far as I know all small block cranks noses including LT1 are the same, only difference is the aftermarket cranks have 2 keyways instead of one for the stock LT1.

ok great, so then im def going to need an lt1 dampr in order to use the serpentine system? thanks alot guys

For 7700 rpm or less you will have less harmonic flex with the Fluiddampner than you will with a ATI or TCI Rattler. This info was from ATI on a 355 motor they were testing. ATI's balancer ramped up peak crank flex @ 6500 rpm and then went back down to almost zero by 10,000 rpm. The Rattler was not even close to either balancers with the amount of flex it was able to absorb.
