Should i change gears

I am in the procees of having my heads P&P's and placing in a cc306 cam. I will probbaly use be using a yank 4000 stall. My question is do I have to chnage my gears right away right now I have the 2.73s in. I know going higher gears is a lot better but will it really effect me that bad to run 2.73s for awhile this will not be a DD car just pretty much a weekend toy.

dont waste the money on the 10 bolt, start savin for a 12 bolt or 9"

I'm in the same situation. I have 2.73s and I'm going to change to 3.42s for cc503 soon. I have to (pretty sure you too) change to a 3 series carrier so anything above 2.73s will fit. And since the 10bolt isn't woth putting money into, I'm picking up a stock carrier cheap. That will give you time to save for a better rear end.
