Default Quick Question

I have an extra intake manifold that I have been working on cleaning up and am stuck on the casting numbers stamped on. There is crap all over them and inside the numbers. I would like to just dremel them off and sand it smooth. Can i do that? Is there any reason to leave them on? What would you guys do?

i'd leave em on just so it can be identified as to which manifold it is, as far as all the stuff on there, a brillo pad or something to scrub with and some good cleaner usually will do the trick, lots of different cleaners to use tho

God I love this site, someone is always there to leave a quick answer. Alright, I guess I'll leave them, just makes it more complicated.
