Help with LT-1 mods (Newbie)

Default Help with LT-1 mods (Newbie)

just needed some advice since iam new to the F-body trend. Well so far i have a full borla Exhuast and a Ram Air kit with a Airfoil in the TB.

Well i wanted to know what kind of mods could i get without failling the smog test. I live in california at a low alt of 16 feet above sea level. A friend of mine says even with a small cam iam pushing it, i was planning on getting a LT4 intake and AFR Heads with a small cam and headers but i know i can't go LT headers and the cam must be small. He is saying it won't pass smog so what are my other options. What if i find a LT4 conversion kit? will that do it, will i still pass smog or what.

Well i would really like to know whats the minimal i can get so i pass smog or could i go with a 408 iron block. Or maybe a wet or direct port spray kit.

well i know about that section but i know i wont pass smog, thats my main goal, get the most power but still pass the smog test.

LT4 hotcam and CC305 have passed california emissions.

I have heard a cc306 (rumours at best).

Alot of it will have to do with the tune and having new cats on the car. Get all your mods that have CARB # since they are the only state that checks...

Might consider other mods that are less "smog risky" first. Gears or stall. On an a4 car, a cam alone will net you some speed, but only a fraction of what a stall could do. You really should try to get the cam to match a stall. Just what I have learned from searching. Good luck
