exhaust?

I just hollowed out my cats and at about 2100 to 2400 it has a different sound. Kind of sounds raspy. Is that because of the cats or could it be an exhaust leak because I have crackling when I rev. Also can I install 1.6's on stock springs? I searched but it is not working for me.

Im pretty sure it is the cats. I have heard that gutting the cats will make the car sound very raspy.

Is the crackling when you let off or is when you are revving up?

Also YES you can run the 1.6s on your stock springs with no problems. It just makes your stock cam a little bit better.

i think it could gfo either way try the easy way first try tighten every thing on your exhaust. if it is still raspy then you may want to re think the hollow cats for maybe hi-flow

the vette was making the same sound untill the bassani x pipe went on no more poping sounds.
