Default LS1 fuel tank

So some of the LS1 cars had a plastic tank right? How much lighter is it than the metal tank? I have a walbro/racetronix 255l pump kit, would it work with the LS1 tank?? Just wondering if a swap were worth it if I could get my hands on a LS1 tank cheap, seeing as I plan on pulling the tank out to do the fuel pump install.

That is some work to pull it out. If they get it out, weigh it and see what that one is, then post it up.

I wanted to pull it out to install the pump, so I could clean the tank out before installing the new pump. I was planning on originally doing the trap door method, but I was advised to clean the tank out before installing the new pump.

Anyway to clean the tank without pulling it out of the car??

Still do the Trap Door while it is out, that way you can get back to it if you have to. It will be safer that way, less of a fire hazard.

Thanks, I'll do that.

If there was a way to get in there and clean it out with it still on the car I would just have someone who could cut well, make the cuts, I just don't know how deep the tank is or wide, you know, cleaning it out while still on the car is doable. Looks like when you take the top off that there would be enough room to reach inside??
