On the passenger side you'll need to kinda play with it. I found it helped to move the transmission dip stick tube out of the way while pulling on it. I put my hands on either end of the valve cover and just kinda wiggle them back and forth until it starts to move. Get your hands under one of the sides and pull up on it.

While you've got them off, it wouldn't hurt to probably replace the valve cover gaskets too. You can pick them up from and local DAP for around $20. You figure if you haven't touched them, the gaskets are 12 years old and it definitely wouldn't hurt to replace them.

On the passanger side often its benefical to remove the alternator. I found that taking some pliers and straighting out the support bar where the bolts go through, it makes it easier to clear rockers, especially aftermarket.

A wooden hammer helps loosen the seal, I would replace with a new fel pro valve cover gasket.

Definitely. You'll fight with it for quite a long time if you don't take the alternator off.

okay, i got it off, now my question is when i re-install the drivers side can i put it on eithor way, im asking cuz there are some scratches on the front of it that i want to hide by putting it in the back. I know the pass side has to go in a certain way to fit with the alternator but what bout the drivers side?

The Driver side can be reversed either way, like it doesnt matter which way it faces, but the ps one has to go on the same way because of the notch for the alternator.

You can't flip the covers because the bolt holes aren't centered.
