Default water temp guage

i just got a electrical water temp guage..where is there a spot to put the sending unit?

Use the factory hole. Take out the old sending unit on the driver side head.

will the check engine light come on since its not getting a signal?

two temp sensors... one in the water pump and one in the driver side head. The one in the head simply runs the gauge and wont throw any codes or lights if its not hooked up. The one in the water pump, I imagine would throw a code and might even cause the engine to run funny or like **** since the computer would never know if the car was up to temp.

Can't we just splice the wires I got a mechanical Autometer water gauge I have sitting around new in the box... or would it be the same damn thing since its a mechanical
