Do i have to Have this?

I have a 1996 camaro and built a 383 stroker with a cloyes double roller timing chain and an electric water pump and converted it to OBD1. The guy that built it didn't install a crank position sensor and i got it back and it ran. However, the other day i got on it pretty good and it just died, then it started after sitting a while but it keeps dying after a little while of running and wont start after it dies for a while. Do i need a crank postion sensor?

What year of opti are you using the OBD1 optis have the CPS built in basicly

I ordered a msd opti for a 96

I cant be 100% sure might want to get other opinion but I think you need like a 95 opti since you are obd1.

im running the 95-97 opti or w/e i got that damn crank sensor thing but its not hooked up no use its for vette's the damn thing leaks oil thats all its good for
