Default Thermostat Question

Well im still working the air out of my coolant system and i was talking to a friend about it and he mentioned that some people drill 2 small holes in the lip of the thermo whe running an EWP. Has anyone here had experience with this? Im not saying this is causing my slight issues, im just curious.

Also what routine do you guys use to burp the system? I have heard about a million different things. Right now my car in traffic is running at about 200-210 degres but goes down to around 180 while cruising. For the last to weeks it would run about 170-180 all the time. This is on the stock gauge guys, Thanks in adavnce

How you bleed it is open up the little screws that are on some of the lines. One is on the neck that the Thermostat sits under, and the other is on one of the Heater Core lines.
