Unless he bought LT4 heads and intake and put them on his car, he has regular LT1 heads on his 97.

If they are actually LT4 heads, they are very good for porting.

If they are LT1 heads, he may want to buy some trickflows or something.

actually a 97 could have an LT4... rare but they produced several hundred LT4 fbodies in 97

depending on his goals I would say sticking with the LT4 heads.

That would only be the case if it was a Pontiac Firehawk. They were the only ones produced with the LT4. Even the C4 Corvettes only had the LT4 option with the manuel transmission, the autos all came with the LT1.

There were 30 LT4 Firebirds, 110 LT4 Camaros, and 6,359 LT4 Corvettes built.

Sorry I was unaware of any LT4 Camaro's. Were they special order option cars? I guess I can see some of those being pace cars and such.

Stock LT-1 heads can make a lot of power. If they are confirmed to be lt-4 heads, all the better. Send them out to a quality head porter (I prefer Advanced Induction) and go from there.

They did a set of their 200cc CNC LT1 heads with a small turbo cam on a 355. It has a pt-88 turbo on it and makes over 1,000 RWHP.

You can check the AI results page:
http://www.advancedinduction.com/AiPerfLT1.html

or: http://www.forcedinductions.com/
under the 'top gun customer list'.

You can do sweet **** with the stuf you have, so concentrate your funds on other aspects of the project. I bet you can get a nice set of Mahle pistons and assorted gaskets for the price of a new bare head casting.

The only way to know for sure is to pull the valve covers off and find the P/N on the head. Should take 10 min.

i didn't figure they'd be ready for sale for a while....either way, the version that's still out is an AWESOME head....i've had some very good luck with the 195cc competiion port heads...out of the box i've seen a handful of cars (including mine) make over 400rwhp with a decent cam and some good tuning.

either way, my vote stays with AFR

Total Engine Air flow has a set of Trick Flow castings that they CNC'd to 200 cc int runners. They have very good flow number's. If you go to their web site look up the GM LT1 stage 3 heads.
