chrome powder coat is not the greatest it just a gloss sliver

I powdercoated mine black so it would be easier to keep clean (doesn't show the 'grime' that a red intake would have).

I'm working on an intake for a girl on another board. Hers is gonna be super wet black. The only difference is that I'm sanding all the rough casting down to a nice uniform 240 grit finish so that when the powder is laid down, it'll come out as smooth as the paintjob on the outside of the car, instead of the "lumpy oatmeal" look of an LT4 intake.

If you don't mind putting 15 or so hours into the intake before you send it to the coater, the results are well worth it.

well i sand blast mine and hit with about 2 good coats of poweder and it come out pretty smooth

it going be super wet black

got mine ceramic coated, helps with heat and looks killer, that would be the most universal color i think would work.

Mine is black with clear coated ribs on top, looks pretty good. I would have left it as cast for the sleeper effect but a friend got bored and we had time to kill during a mid project parts run.

I happen to like a theme with a motor. Here is my motor. It makes 650 at the engine on spray, 530 to the wheels. I went with the candy Zex purple. Nine layers of paint. 1 prime. 3 base 3candy 3 clear. Holds very well up to the heat.

Black, some one said it would hold more heat than red, thats false, they paint NASCAR engines black, or at least I heard they did
