Default Well Almost Caught it on fire again (found the prob)

Alright well Moe tuned it today.. one of my NEW Bosch 02's are bad until it hits 2,500 RPM (bosch sucks)

so anyways we went to make a Dig run.. spun the tires through 3 gears and he said do a roll since i couldnt hook up then i was like man i bet my 6,100 rpm MSD Pill was kinda killing the topend since itwas shifting around that.. anyways pulled over more smoke thought it was on fire again so i popped the hood holy damn.. oil on back of alt oil on whole passenger valve cover... on the top of intake on the back of my ram air hood

there was alittle puddle under the valve cover against the header (like a pool) so I assume I rolled the valve cover.. it wont leak a drop @ idle or evening revving has to be LOAD + WOT... also the grommet around the PCV had alittle bit built around the edges.. was concerned about that aswell

Besides that.. mean mother fkr

Congrats. Sounds like a monster.
Since there was oil under the PCV also, it almost sounds like you are getting a pressure build up internally. You might consider a catch can-type approach.

Check your valve cover gaskets first. If they are fine, add a breather or like mentioned......a catch can.

Did Moe finish tuning it?

Sounds like car is building a lot of crankcase pressure... mine used to do that, a breather in the valve cover fixed the problem, I added one more to the driver side cover also, and it never did it again, by the way, I got the passenger valve cover off a TBI/Vortech v8 engine, it has more provisions to add breathers, since stock LT1 doesn't have any on drivers side.

won't it have a vacum leak then and what do i with the open end on the TB??

when I take the PCV out btw it blows a bit of smoke out.. so i know it has some pressure and im sure under LOAD + WOT it has alot of pressure... can I just do a filter on one side.. press in or screw in?

fill me in here id like to get rid of this stupid problem

The only thing Tony's engine keeps blowing is my ear drums. That sumbitch screams!!

This reminds me that I need to order a breather too. One more thing...

You leave untouched the pcv valves. On my car I modified the oil cap and inserted a breather on the passenger side, look at the drivers side valve cover, it doesn't have any provisions for anything. I bougth a valve cover from a Vortech truck engine that was blown, and now the oil filler cap sits on the driver side along with a breather. Engine bay looks to me better, it looks more even like that.

Me and Mechanic pulled the valve cover, plugs, wires, both dipsticks, pass side header, alt, starter all out damn its NASTY

guess what the valve cover has been BENT in the corner this whole time since the rebuild its like tweaked up you can see the gasket lines on the header where it halfass seated but @ WOT massive blowby
