LT1-LT4 Modifications 1993-97 Gen II Small Block V8

Am i missing something?

Default Am i missing something?

I got every bolt on known to man. Custom intake, but im still running the stock MAF. I know everyone pus one on. Heres what im thinking. The MAF is the same size as the intake elbow. So whats the point of putting a bigger one on if its gotta resize to go into the elbow. Am i in the right state of mind or no. I cant see spending $300 on a MAF. Granted my intake is 4'' but it slowely tapers smaller as it gets to the elbow. Heres a pic of what im working with.

you can just but the ported ends instead for like $50

what u talkin bout? porting the MAF? Thoes are old RK Sport headers, i got pacesetter LTs now.

The looked like a 1 5/8" Primary.
Did you get my PM.. how do them rear tires clear?

What is the limitation of HP for an LT1 untouched MAF that is the question. I see guys porting stock ones, but all that does is screw with the sensors calibration.

There is a lot of hype for newbs in the MAF world. I have even bought one before I knew about how they really worked in conjunction with the comp.

yea, sorry merv. The tires clear fine. They are pretty worn thou, only got like 20% left. But they clear fine and no rub on the top end. But then it is a radial and doesnt baloon like a drag tire. I would say a 28'' et drag and it might hit a bit. But the way my car sits now its fine.
