If you machine the LT4 intake to fit LT1 head you just destroyed every "benifit" it had because the only benifit is the extra material above the port to seal to the taller LT4 head ports. TALLER, NOT raised as is so often said.
So logically speaking the LT1-LT4 manifolds are single plane. If they were dual plane there would be a seperating wall splitting the manifold in two.
