get longtube headers and stall before the cam. also make sure thats the cam you really want and 2800 stall would be good for that cam.

hmm, well it's better than 3.23s but definitely not as good as 3.73's which would be a great combo with the converter. you can get by with the 3.42's but you won't get the full potential until you change the gears.

Get the stall first.
I went from 3.23 to 3.73 with no change to the combo other than a tune for the gears. Time improvement = .2
Headers & full 3" cat back = 0 (with 3.73's)
Gears from 3.73 to 3.42 time improvement = .5 (currently at 13.69 with a stock converter)
Currently have a 2800 converter waiting for my lazy butt to work on it (and not have to work 60+ hours in a week, including 3+hours on the road back&forth).
A converter should give more gains than the small cam or the headers provided you can get traction. I can't use long tubes here otherwise, they would be on the car

If you get a stall get a name brand like vig or yank, and if you cant afford a new one get a used one like this.

well ive been reading a lot about the stalls and i dont think im going to get one because they seem to be pretty hard on your trans and i have 110000 on mine. is there any cam out there i can put in my car that will make alittle more hp, without buying a stall,

Get a lockup converter around 3k and you wont even notice it until you step on the gas. As far as it being hard on the trans the biggest problem is the heat it builds when you kick it in the ***. Put in a tranny cooler and that will take care of the heat.

Talk to the guy from performabuilt about it and he can answer all your questions. I think there are more guys on here that actually deal in these but he is the one I can think of.
