Car smokes and reeks of gas

I got a mail order tune for my 94 Z hoping that all it needed was to be tuned to stop the smoking issue but it didn't. It runs real strong but when I got into it when it shifted to third from second it backfired. It seems as if I'm getting too much fuel or possibly not enough spark. The opti is fairly new and so are the wires. Could it be a bad FPR? Has anybody had a problem similar to this? Any help is appreciated.

did you check your O2's and your , Injectors maybe dirty. Is it throwing any codes?

I just changed the injectors about 2 weeks ago. The 02's are brand new. Drove it today and it stopped smoking and then all of a sudden it started back. I'm kinda leaning towards changing the valve seals just for the hell of it.
