Default Whats all involved.........

I'm thinking of helping someone out with there 93 camaro. It's a automatic and someone he took it to say it's needs a front seal on the tranny. What all involved with replacing that. Of course I know that I need to pull the tranny but after that what am I gonna have to do or need to fix it for him? Thanks Ken

You need the new seal, tall jackstands, a trans jack is nice otherwise a couple of good floor jacks, and some silicone. You might want to change the rear main while you are there. Then you will need several quarts of tranny fluid ( and kitty litter for the mess that will be on the garage floor...)
Remove the trans using the trans jack (or one floor jack with a piece of plywood supporting the pan) and one jack under the oil pan. You are on your own to get the trans to engine bolts out...
Remove the torque converter (have kittly litter ready)
Remove the seal with either a seal removal tool or BIG screwdriver.
Put some silicone around the outer edge of the seal and carefully tap in place with a small hammer (or the special tool from Snap-on).
Reinstall the torque converter - make sure it goes all the way on. (Mounting flanges for the TC bolts are about 1" behind the front edge of the trans).
Raise the trans and reinstall bolts to engine. The one above the starter (upper one) is a pain in the A$$.

If you have changed the seal in a T350, T400, Glide, C4, C6, Torque Flight, ect they are all about the same.

So all I really need is the seal and some tranny fluid. Pulling the tranny ain't no problem just never did anything other than replacing torque converter when it comes to taking apart any automatics.

If you have replaced the torque converter you can change the seal with no problem. Just hope the temp in your work area is above freezing as you will be on the concrete (literally)

In fact, I'm being lazy, I have a brand new 2800 stall sitting in a box just waiting for me to get off my but and put it in. I just hope it is worth the .70 seconds I need
