SBC Heads on LT1 info ???

SBC Heads on LT1 info ??? are there any sites or forums that contain info on what is needed to run
23*sbc heads on a lt1?
witha sbc intake? and distributor
used search function on this forum but came up empty handed or came across
threads that had not much info on the swap
will i have to use a sbc wp in order to use the conventional cooling heads?
any info or sites , links or resources is welcome
have a 383 lt1 project and some killer 23* protopline heads that flow 285cfm
but heads are for sbc ,
am committed to theconversion

WEll it's a fairly simple conversion and a few shop's do it..Bret bauer does it, or at least know's someone that does.. i had airflow development do mine.. Do you already own the heads? or are purchasing them?

i alredy own the heads, they were ported by a SAM grad, with 2.02 int.
valves, heads were originally, for a sbc project, but i am commited to the lt1 conversion now, will be using megasquirt and ford 4.6 coil packs for spark using ford vr sensor and 36-1 crank wheel, but i will start it out with the dist.
just to get it running.
also using victor intake,with fuel rails and elbow plenum with lsx 90mm tb
block is lt4 4 bolt mains with forged assembly and 11.5 scr
engine machined built by SAM guy also.
going in a 95 trans am with t56rebuilds built 700hp built t56

the issue is having the heads machined for the cooling passages. it's not just the direction of the flow, but the actual port location and shape IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN. other than spending a couple hundred bucks on machine work and hoping the guy doesn't botch the heads while doing it, you're good to go.
IMO- your money would be better spent selling those heads and buying a set already made for the lt1. the money you save on machine work would allow you to buy a very nice set of lt1 heads.

On a good set of heads the conversion by a "good" guy is gonna cost anywhere from 250-400 or so.. depending on the porosity of the casting and it's ability to be welded easily... That's what the guy whom did mine told me..
