Not a yank, but a vig is a good stall too. Oh yeah 918's wont work with s/a rockers either, just a heads up.

Damn..if it's not one thing, it's another..
Might just stick with the Hotcam running my Mid 12's, then throw in my other Engine later down the road.

What the hell are you talking about? That is the new recommended spring on almost all of Comp's LT1 cams. The spring doesn't care about the rocker arm. I can only see your point if you switch over to a 8mm valve.

The self aligning tabs will hit the spring retainer so the rollers on the rockers won't even be touching the valvestem. The motor won't run very long like that.

Then why do they give their self aligning rocker arm arm part numbers for matching components? The distance between the tip of the valve and retainer is not changed when you use the correct part number. Recommended matching parts:

-retainers # 787-16
-valve locks # 648-16
-rocker arms #1417-16/1317-16 (self-aligning rockers)

I have used these springs before with SA rockers and have not had the problem you are talking about.

Uuhhh are you sure about that? I have been running 918's with S/A rocker arms...everything matched up perfect with 10* locks

speed demon is right in some cases. the crane gold s/a rockers will hit the spring. at least it did when we did the 847 install on my friends car.
