pump or pulley? So, should I get a UD pulley for my 93Z?
Care is stock right now, not a whole lot of time for stuff right now.
Is the pulley worth it, compared to an electric water pump?
Or both?

Both are fine IMO. The Electric WP give you the ability to use better timing chains later.(with clearancing)
The pulleys are also fine, and will not screw up daily driving with the alternator pully together.
Save your money however and do like ssssalah said and go with the CAI or headers.

I do plan on getting headers + exhaust, I have the parts for an LS1 intake conversion, but its too cold out to do any extended modding right now, and I dont have a garage to work in right now.
So I kinda figured that a pulley would be easy, 160 stat, and the water pump I thought of because I have no idea how old the one in the car is. Its a 93Z, and I dont have any data on its maintanence history.
Whats the problem with the pulley if the car is in alot of stop/go traffic?
btw, I dont plan on having a really loud stereo.

it will underdrive your alternator, and in slow traffic your rpms are low. That is why i said you need the pair of pulleys and not just the crank pulley.
Dont get the 160 stat without tuning.

I havn't done the intake conversion yet, too cold here.......its been -15 with wind chill, and I have to work outside. I had planned on using the stock z28 hood with the cuts underneath like merv had done, but an SS hood would be cool......
UD pullies get a good reputation from OTHER MOTORS where they free up a lot of power by under driving the WP, but since our WP is not belt driven you endup not affecting the single most parasitic accessory.
Electric WPs free up power by moving LESS water, they can get you a few HP at the wheels but IMO not a great idea for a street car.

i also have a question with the ud pulley. i bought a used ud pulley just the crank one, i heard that it doesnt give you hp it makes your car save hp form loosing it. will just the crank pulley do anything or should i go and get the alternator pulley as well
The alternator pullies are to overdrive the alternator and avoid charging issues. Think about it then you are only under driving the power steering and AC, the AC shuts off at WOT and you can adjust the TPS it shuts off at in tunercat if you want too.
In a cammed car with assocoated raised idle there shoul;d be no charging issues at idle with just a UD crank pulley making the OD alternator pulley nothing but excessive abuse to the alternator.
