I'm about to do my UMI K-Frame /control arms install. I'll need shocks. I searched through the postings. I was going to use KYB shocks, I've been using them on all my vehicles for many years without any problems. I have KYB's on the rear of the bird. The threads look to be about 20% for KYB's and 80% for Koni's.
The KYB's are 90 bucks, the Koni's are 160, 260, 305 and 380. WHOO that's a lt of bread for ONE shock absorber.
This car will be street driven with a trip to the track at most three times a year.
Opinions please.

Hello Paul,
Give Sam Strano a call at Strano Parts, he is excellent in this area. One of the biggest things that will be a factor is what springs you are running. If you mix match the wrong spring rates with the wrong shocks you will wear the shock out quick.
QA1's are a good shock for a vehicle that see's the track some and they feature a aluminum body so a front coil over kit would save you another 10lbs of weight. But there not the cheapest either at $450 for two shocks and two springs.
Hope that helps,
Ryan
