There's a problem with the Dyno tune idea...none of the dyno places around here will tune your car unless you have something to tune it with ie, fuel management...etc.

Darn...sucks. I guess your best bet would be a mail order tune.

i voted for other but, i just read your this post about you not being able to do a dyno tune. hypertec is poop in the form of plastic with a cable attached. go with the mailorder for now, but when you get your heads and cam youre gonna need to get it dyno tuned. also, i hear good things about madZ. i was going to get my tune from them, but decided to sell my interface cable and go with a dyno tune when i get some serious mods. good luck buddy.

also, if im not mistaken, can you get your car dyno'd and sent madZ the info and have them tune it for you? you might want to check into that.

I will be glad to give you an example. I emailed Ion and asked to send it back so he could change it, he flat out told me no, to buy the moates burner and software, and he would email me the changes to make. I told him no way was I going to spend another 150.00 bucks for equip. because I didn't have the extra money. he then told me that my car was the problem and not the tune. and that he wouldn't take it back. so after about 5 emails of bickering back and fourth and him blaming my car, I finally got the money to go to a local tuner. and guess what it was Ion's tune, it was really leaned out thru most of the powerband, and way to fattened up over 5000rpm's. the tuner got my car straightened out, and runs much better. and the a/f's are 200% better than Ion's tune. So I told Ion I would let everyone know how he does business. after I tell people on websites when they ask about him, I get around 5 emails from people he has done the same thing to.
Ion is a Jerk, will never get my business again. what a waste of 150.00 , I sent him 150.00 because I accidently overpayed double on shipping, dang paypal. he didn't have no problem keeping the extra 25.00 either... sorry so long, just letting you know what kinda person he was to me..

If doing a LE heads and cam setup I would probably use the same tuner that Lloyd himself used for his car.... US
All things aside though I have done many LE head/cam setups on the LT1's and have a great database of dyno tunes from his setups.
Yes, we do LS1 tunes as well.
I also believe that Ion does a good job too (I think he just gets a bit overwhelmed sometimes with the PCM biz and College and I can understand that) and I don't knock anyone else's work, but on the LE setups I believe we have the hot ticket for them.
Thanks,
Bryan

Also, once again thanks to all of our customers who speak highly of Alvin and I's work. It really does make the long hours worth it when you can visit any forum and people have good things to say about your work. I really enjoy what I do and enjoy making cars go faster.

Can PCMFORLESS send out just the tune by email, so the customer can load flash the PCM with their own software. If so ho much less then the regular mail you computer back and forth tuning. Also, do these files have any kind of locks placed on them, so they cant be changed.

My gas mileage dropped from 15-16mpg to with 10mpg with the tune. Also my idle was very high and took forever to warm up. When I tried emailing him I had no luck in responce.

Hi,
Yes, we do tunes via email if you have the loading software. They are just $75. We do not lock them so they are open for you to make any changes you desire.
Thanks,
Bryan

You guys and your crazy stories of huge gas mileage changes and cars barely making it home. I've seen both PCM4less and MadZ28 tunes and they're going to be very similar. I liked what I saw from both tunes and I would almost GUARANTEE the tune wasn't causing all the problems some of you had. For one, the gas mileage change. If you had any tuning experience, you'd know that the O2's are feeding back information to keep the a/f at/around 14.7:1 at all times except cold start and WOT (PE mode). Unless he got an injector constant wrong (which happens sometimes) Ion would had to of made a stupid, unnecessary mistake (like changing the BLM boundaries and forcing it run rich) to make a car go from 17 to 10 mpg, and I seriously doubt that happened. He's also not going to be able to control how long the car takes to warm up. If he had the fans kicking on a little sooner, that MIGHT make a slight difference. Honestly, you guys would be happy with either mail order tune. Hell, I bet I could make you happy with a mail order tune. They honestly don't vary a whole lot when it comes to similar setups. I've heard complaints about customer service and tunes from both places, but when you deal with as many people as they do, what can you expect. Some people want their stuff done yesterday and don't hesitate to get on the internet and bitch up a storm about it. Put the two names in a hat and draw one. Or, buy the software and learn to do it yourself.

Well you could believe what you want, but Im telling you my problem was his tune, I saw it for myself on the new tuners software. on the dyno the af readings dosen't lie. it was so lean the dyno guy wouldn't let me run more then once. I have no reason to come on here and bash anyone, Im just stating my dealings with Ion, and the guy is a Jerk, maybe he should realize that everyone's car's are not the same, and his cookie cutout of a tune will need some tweaking on some cars, if he would only accept that his tunes are not dead nuts on every time, and not be so easy to put the blame on the car, and take it back to make some changes. that is what I call customer service. and if he would like to come on here and defend himself he can go right ahead, I have his emails to show what kind of person he is...like I said I know he has done people right, and wrong, Im just stating my facts on how his customer service was with me, which was very lousy. I will let people know how he did me, when they ask how's his tunes/service.
