ok thanks merv. well in that case i dont know, i was thinkin it was like another 5.7 LS1 but it still says it makes 300 horsepower, so i guess it depends on the weight of a GXP but i think they r front wheel drive so they probably get better traction, oh what the hell, im making ASSumptions on a car i dont even know what it looks like lol, ask somebody smart

Yea, I don't know about that..look at all these little ***** in Hondas try and run us and all they do is spin off of the line. This thing is a V8, so it probably would spin more. I would rather have my car push itself down the track, instead of pull itself.

I was just messin around with the GXP guy.

The LS4 is a 5.3 Liter V8 with around 300hp, its a nice motor, no doubt.
Due to thier weight and FWD, the LT1 shouldnt have to much to worry about.

But If i ever meet up with one, im going ***** to the wall, even after my new mods. We need to put these 4 Door baby wagons in thier place! ( jk )
And about the traction thing, RWD>FWD.

if rwd gets better traction, y do fwd go better in snow? its easier to pull than push, thats a common mechanical theory. plus all the weight is on the front. but if u guys say rwd hooks better i bleieve u

FWD is money in the snow, I would love it there. On the Tracks, the RWD can be made to hook really, really well, definately better then the FWD. That thing probably does have some good hook with that V8 in the front. Still a grocery getter though..

Hummm, you need some learning before you end up buying a FWD car. FWD is good in the snow because most of the weight is on the front wheels. When your driving in snow, you slowly creep around, so little or no weight transfer is going to the back. All the weight stays level on the front tires.

RWD sucks the most in snow cause not much weight is on the back. And your not going to get grip trying to transfering weight to the back by taking off fast.

When snow is not present, FWD sucks cause the weight transfer goes back, taking less weight off the front. Then you spin out. Obviously RWD is better in dry cause weight goes to the back.

If they were "fast," they must have had very sticky tires. Or taking off from rolls where they couldn't spin if they wanted. But if those cars so happen to be RWD, they definitely wouldn't of spun. It's all about weight transfer.

FWD sucks for traction. Just because we have a big v8 under the hood doesnt mean we hook. I have to baby the throttle off the line, start with 1/4 throttle and work my way down. 1st goes to 52mph, i can floor it around 35 and have it hook, mostly. As far as snow goes its a dog, i do better in my fathers 04 mustang gt then my GXP. Probably because the tires are so wide in the front. LS4=303hp 324tq. Car with me in it weighs at 3620 with 1/4 tank of gas, and am 140. we do have i believe LS6 heads, if not parts from LS6 heads. Its a strong motor and does nicely for a 4 door grocery getter

Same car same times it seems. The GXP has the handling and braking over the MCSS and IMPSS, plus the tapshift is always nice to have, something they didnt offer on the other two

Ran my girlfriends stock '94 T/A GT A4 to a 14.3@98 with 155K on it the other night. Humidity was high and barometer was low... and this motor has some blowby.
