Question Is 1995 Trans Am Use Obd-ii Or Which Code Reader?

WHICH CODE READER SHOULD I BUY FOR 1995 PONTIAC TRANS AM LT1? Is Do my car use OBD II to read "Service Engine Soon" lamp?

You have a off year. You have to get a special reader. You have an obdI system with an obd II port.

I dont get it..
It uses OBDI but it has OBD II plug from factory? hmm.. weird and confused.. I am looknig from ebay any chance to find that and is it an expensive stuff?

you can use an obd1 scanner you just have to jump the pins with a wire. check shbox.com for the diagram on which pins. 95 was a crossover year so they put the obd2 port but with an obd1 computer. ive heard some late 95s were obd2 but not sure.

What a chance huh.. In my country there is no offical pontiac service or dealer..
So its hard to find that stuff.. Is it OBD or OBD2
By the way where should I check from shbox?

You can get the correct cable from AKM Cables and use a laptop to scan your car for codes.

i have a 95 TA ..but its not that its obd 2 with obd1 ECM .....it depends on if its early 95 or late....if it is a late the u will need the GM 1 connector if u use a snap on scanner...wich will read it just fine...but like my TA its OBD 2 all the way.....and i use the obd 2 connector with my snap on scanner....but i just bought a new GENESIS SCANNER wich is prompted more towards the GM products..but is universal non-the less....is it a obd 2 or obd 1 DLC???
